"Today I had an amazing experience at the Malay kitchen Kenilworth. My husband and I ordered food to sit down which was delicious or should I say familiar flavours. We ordered a Gatsby which had to be quite simple , however the chef added the sauce that was not required ,when I got home and opens the Gatsby for the kids they were not impressed and could not eat as the dhaniya sauce did not sit well and not mayonnaise as requested. I called them and advised of the incorrect sauces ,they were so kind and understandable .They even replaced the Gatsby and delivered it to my house.AMAZING SERVICE Great great service indeed I appreciate Munir and team. Stay humbleand blessed. May your standards of food increase the improved at the Cape Malay in Kenilworth has improved a lot thank you hope to try more food options."
"Hi Been to Malay Kitchen for the first time. And Wow my experience was the best I've received in my life. The welcoming we've received was amazing. I must say the service is tops, staff are very friendly, food was great. Even the Manager was very friendly and professional. But Big ups to Mujahid he take the trophy, he made our experience feel homely and amazing. He made that we shall return with the rest of the family."
"We had abit of a wait for our steaks but the waiter gave us some complimentary samoosas which were delicious. The steaks were good but the Belgian waffles were Devine. The service from our waiter was excellent. When we told him we were interested in their little cakes he went through all the option with us. We left with a biscoff cheesecake and a brownie with ice cream. The overall experience was good and we will definitely be back."
"If you're looking for authentic Cape Malay food, Malay Kitchen is definitely a place you should try. Situated in Kenilworth Centre, a mall with undercover parking. Malay Kitchen is a quaint restaurant that gives off authentic Cape Malay vibes. The food is delicious, with a variety of options to choose from! My waiter, Fuad, was exceptional. He advised what I should try (a salomie) and made the best falooda milkshake. Really impressed with the food, service and atmosphere!"
"Lovely experience! I’ve been here a few times and everytime I’m met with amazing service. Their food is divine and rich with flavour - you can immediately tell that everything is made fresh, even their chips which is rare these days. They make amazing savouries; our favourite are the steak half moons. They’re often sold out but you can request that they make a fresh batch for you. Their braai platters are so delicious, meats are tender and are cooked to perfection with a sweet, smoky marinade. Their burgers are also super tasty and big - their portion sizes are great for what you pay for. Redar ALWAYS provides great service; cheerful, kind and makes you feel right at home the moment you arrive. Their menu is quite large so there’s something for everyone. Their decor is bright and captures the Cape Malay culture beautifully with a gorgeous mural of Bo-kaap as the backdrop, while also playing Cape Malay classics on the speakers. So glad i discovered this place and I’ve been recommending them since!"
"If you're looking for the taste of Cape Malay this is the place to be! We went on a Daddy's-daughters date. The food was to our liking. Great service and the ambiance was perfect. We were able to purchase a 2l Coca-Cola and we got take-away containers for our leftovers. We spent about +-R100 per person. They have booths for 6-8 people and tables for 2 or 4. Great for meeting up with friends and family or even for a date. I would definitely go again and highly recommend others give it a try!"
"Hubby and I had an amazing experience at the Malay kitchen and definitely plan on going again very soon. The atmosphere was great and the waiters were so warm and welcoming. Shukran to our waiter Ridhaa who served us so well and helped made our first time eating there very memorable he deserves a 10/10 for great service not forgetting the chef , wow 10/10 ⭐ the food was amazing I would definitely recommend this place...cant wait to be back!!"
"My colleague and I marked our work milestones with a monthly tradition. This time, I asked to try his culture. His face lit up, a grin spreading. “Malay Kitchen!” he cried, eyes shining. We drove five minutes to Kenilworth Center. Parking was easy. We walked through Malay Kitchen’s wide, welcoming doors. Where else does the owner greet you with a firm handshake and genuine smile? Nowhere! We were seated and served by a charming, smiling young man, likely one of his sons. We ordered quickly, and the food arrived fast. It was a fantastic experience! Delicious food, great atmosphere, with eager patrons. Every Cape Town visitor must try this place, with its unique cuisine and hosts, who feel like family. Visit Malay Kitchen today! Go on!"
